I may be a teenager that just got a foot in the door of car culture, and slowly creeping into the real world, but I have some pretty big ambitions.

One of those ambitions is that I want to have a small house and get the money to build a large car garage with a dedicated workspace and lift.

My biggest ambition is to figure out which rx7 or rx8 I want, and shove an ls engine in there. Right now my heart says lsx454.

Kinja'd!!!

Just look at that beauty, 627hp at 6300rpm, though pricy at $12,700. Fits in almost anything.

So oppo, what are your biggest ambitions? Car realated or not, I’m currious

Eventually I’d like some sort of 240SX and dump a RB26 Or RB28 into it

More fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I’m 41 and firmly middle age. I did without a toy car for years. Just bought a 70s fiat with maaaaybe 100hp but 40mph feels awesome. Skinny tires, a can drift any corner any time.

So simple. Clutch cable broke a few days ago. $20.

My point is aspire, dream big. But whatever you do, have something that feeds your craving. I know people (like me) that waited far too many years to just enjoy a Sunday morning drive to the diner.

Dreaming a $12k crate motor may always be out of reach.

Pay off my Si, continue my horrid habit of immediately getting a new(ish) car. Eventually I will have to stop, but at 22, I’m not yet worried about the idea of a family and such

Here’s some advice from a real estate professional. Buy the small home with the outbuilding already there, even if it is not exactly what you want. It is far, far cheaper to purchase an existing structure than to build one.

My long term ambitions are to get my kids through school, into some sort of secondary education and a stable career path. My short term goals are to fix my car. It is in sore need of brakes, tires & suspension work.

30 years old here - still living home with mom until I find a full-time job, until then I have 3 part time jobs with random hours, so don’t want to have to sign a lease on an apartment not knowing if I’ll have the cash every week to pay for it.

All my money at the moment is being saved for a house of my own, hopefully with a garage. Intent is to import a FIAT 126p from Poland sometime in the next year or two, hopefully! :)

Amen, hopefully if the slow car fast mantra is true, I will have a blast in my FIAT 126p when the time comes for me to import one! :P

While I will admit it is fun to see what a “slow” car can do, there is something burning inside of me that wants to put lots of power into a car that was never ment to have lots of power. I may be the bimmer guy, but engine swapping a rx8 or 7 is some bucket list material for me; after all, I probably enjoy wrenching on a car a little too much.

I’ve recently harbored the idea of kinding an old BMW 2002 in need of some love, bring it back up to working order, and put a 1M engine in it. Sounds magical to me.

My eventual goal is to turn my 5.0 into a track car. I want to do it right and I’ve got a ways to go. Damn fiscal responsibility.

And the answer to your question is the RX7.

I want to be a race car driver. But I also dream of being one of those old-school style team owners that fund the racing by selling road cars. I’m just as obsessed with the business side of motorsport as I am the driving.

My short term goals are to finish building my Formula 1600 car and build up a respectable following on my YouTube channel, which will focus on the art and lifestyle of auto racing.

Life - get the budget and marriage in the black now that the wife is graduated from grad school. Find more time for me, as adapting to parenting has been tough. Dip my toes in the job search water to see what’s out there.

Cars - finish the little things on the e34 535i now that it’s more or less my “wife’s car”. And generally speaking, start getting my 944 sorted(it’s pretty good but any 32 year old car needs work). And speaking of slow car vs. fast car and engine swaps. I’m going to try and figure out if I’m content with 150hp, if I want to throw a G at a cam, a MAF, and tunable chip; or just start piecing together an Audi 5 cylinder turbo.

Long term - raise a good daughter, have a happy marriage, own some fun and interesting cars, travel, do some running and triathlon races, climb some mountains. Have a good job or three.

I’m an immense LS fan, and most swaps I’ll defend even though others say it’s been done too often. But not here. You’re removing the defining characteristic of those cars. Pick something else. Please?

That said... if it’s what you really genuinely want, don’t let anything get in the way. Besides your day to day duties and financial responsibilities of course.

100% true!

I’ve driven some powerful cars in the past and the struggle is a where do you get to use it? If you have the time and space do it!

I have my fantasies that I’ve not built yet. AMG V8 power C-Kompact is one... As LS powered Starion being another.

Buy another first gen Impreza Outback Sport, take it apart, undercoat the hell out of it, and keep it solely as my winter car ( I live in Nothern Vermont).

Buy a 2009 Subaru Outback 3.0R, then do a manual swap.

Buy a Mercedes Sprinter 3500 long wheelbase four wheel drive high roof and convert it into a custom traveling van with my girlfriend. Go traveling in said van.

Buy a 1989 Nissan Sentra and slowly modify it, for no other reason than it was my first car, and they get 43 mpg with a manual. Use this car to drive to work and back. They aren’t fast cars by any means, but it falls into the “slow car fast” and “add lightness” mentality.

Buy a 1947 Ford pickup project truck for my girlfriend. She’s always wanted one. Oh, and throw in a 4BT.

Get a starter motorcycle for myself and my girlfriend. One for each of us, because she wants to learn to ride. Then work our way up to matching Ducatis.

Restore the 1972 Dodge W600 Crew Cab Dually sitting at my parent’s house and show all the brodozers what a real truck looks like.

Eventually build a Porsche powered Subaru.

My biggest ambition right now is to get out of my house in town and on to an acreage with a good sized shop. There I will finally have room to keep all my junk and finally get to work on my 1950 F3 which has been on the back burner for years.

Not going to lie, the rotary is the biggest part of the car, but I would love to have a rx8 or 7 because I find those cars perfect in many ways except the rotary. I wil give rotaries credit where it is due, they are powerful small engines that have great balance which makes them awesome in track cars, but can be unreliable for a potential DD. Also the 454 just sounds so mean!

Build something - anything, just something - which I can wear goggles while operating, requires the expert regulation of a large number of brass levers and switches to get going, and which fucking spits fire when I turn it on.
